Queen Mary of Denmark and King Frederik X of Denmark take part in a city walk in the redeveloped Prahran area in Melbourne on March 17, 2026, as part of their state visit to Australia. The area in Prahran is being transformed from older residential buildings to new, more sustainable housing. The project is part of the state of Victoria's plan to renew 44 state-owned high-rise buildings in Melbourne with a focus on energy-efficient and healthier homes. During the visit, the royal couple will visit Uluru in the Northern Territory, Canberra, and Melbourne, before concluding the visit in the queen's hometown of Hobart in Tasmania. The visit particularly focuses on green transition, and 55 Danish companies are traveling as part of an official business delegation aimed at promoting cooperation in renewable energy and energy-efficient urban development.
