Correction: Mideast-Wars-Gaza story
DEIR AL-BALAH, Gaza Strip (AP) — In a story published Aug. 4, 2026, about the war in Gaza, The Associated Press erroneously reported that women and children make up most of the dead in data released by the territory’s Health Ministry. They constitute roughly half of the dead, according to the ministry, although the most recent data from July 2026 is incomplete. The dateline was also reported incorrectly. It is DEIR AL-BALAH, Gaza Strip, not DEIR AL-BALAH, Gaza City.
